Sculpture by the Sea
Sculpture by the sea is a major part of Sydney's summer art calendar and is one of the largest free to the public art events in the world. It is located on the spectacular coast line between South Bondi and Tamarama Beaches. To host the exhibition in 2006 the display has involved nearly 1,000 artists and scores of staff. The 2006 exhibition features over 100 artists from across the world selected by exhibition director, David Handley and Geoffrey Edward from nearly 600 submissions.
The exhibition showcases the wonderfully creative talents of its artists and has created a magical experience for all to see and enjoy. Over 400,000 visitors are attracted to the event.
This series of photographs shows only selected images. They mostly emphasise shape, form, pattern and textures but there are also a few that focus on our human interation with the scuptures.
