RFDS Outback Car Trek
This gallery contains a selection of images I have taken as one of two official photographers of the RFDS Outback car Trek. The other photographer is Tanya DuToit. Her images can be viewed at: http://tdtphotography.com
Each year in the first week of June the Trek leaves from a different location on a journey of about 3,500 kms through some of the most remote towns and regions of Australia. It takes around 350 people travelling in pre-1971 2WD cars and modern 4WD support vehicles on a trek of fun and adventure. This has been a wonderful opportunity to see and experience parts of Australia most people have never heard of. More importantly the Trek is a major fund raiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. The 2012 Trek raised over $1.6m.
